Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her father taught in the school system while her mother was a stay-at-home mother. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick was a talented entertainer and singer at the age of 6. She would perform shows using puppets for her neighbors. In the year she turned 6, McCormick won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire if the actress would be interested in a career in show business. McCormick's first job as a professional was in 1964, which was when she appeared in a TV commercial for Mattels new doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was shortly cast in the musical the play Wind It up until It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected from among 1500 children who had auditioned to be the youngest of three towheaded girls on the brand new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The show ran for five seasons. In her memoir Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick admitted that in the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her virginity to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. At the time, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. She stated, but the time was never right for us.
